Jallah Kennedy, PhD Executive Board Member

An Epidemiologist and Registered Nurse with over 24 years of clinical research and teaching experience in Liberia and the United States of America. He was born in Voinjama, Lofa County, Liberia. Dr. Kennedy’s educational background includes professional nursing from Tubman National Institute of Medical Arts (TNIMA) in Liberia (1992); biology, chemistry, and pre-medical from the University of Liberia and Richard Stockton College of New Jersey (2001); epidemiology from University of Medicine and Dentistry (MPH-2006) and epidemiology from Walden University (2014-PhD) with a concentration on maternal-child health research; computer specialist; tobacco cessation specialist; and chronic disease (CDSMP) and diabetes self-management (DSMP) peer leader certifications. Dr. Kennedy has functioned in several nursing, teaching, research, consulting, community outreach, and leadership positions with many institutions, including the Ministry of Health of Liberia, JFK Medical Center, Phebe Hospital, Cuttington University College, Liberia Family Planning Association, TNIMA, Liberian Family Planning Association, TNIMA Association (global), UMDNJ (Rutgers University), Jewish Family Service of Atlantic and Cape May Counties, Abs-econ Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Roads to Health. His program and research interests include maternal and child health; reproductive health; health policy and planning; evaluation; community-based participatory; infectious diseases; health information system; rural, hard to reach, and other vulnerable population; and service utilization.
